This week we have been busy making special deliveries to the Nantwich foodbank and helping them to put together Christmas Packs for families over Christmas.
Working alongside volunteers from Reaseheath College, we put together Christmas gift bags for 50+ individuals living at the YMCA. Each pack contained a selection box, crisps snack, toiletries gift set, tin of fruit, tin of soup, packet of pasta and a pair of socks.
Also packed were gift parcels for families that had been referred to the food bank. We were given details of the size of the family and the age and sex of the children to help us to choose suitable gifts from the many donations to add to the parcel.
In addition to a Christmas gift per person, there were various food items added according to a list given to us. The parcel was then checked, weighed and gift wrapped ready for distribution.
